Episode 10: "He Got Me For A FoFoFo"

I went to the studio just to see how Preach was doing. Of course as I’m telling him my current life situation, he turns on the mic. In this fake ass comeback episode, I get deep in to a story around some bumass dude I gave my time and energy to. He was an old crush and come to find out he was basically homeless. What am I actually doing with my life?

After a year or so hiatus I’m fucking back! At this point I have no choice but to be consistent cause there are a lot of things on my chest.

The ever growing obsession and fetish over fat girls has reached its all time high. I discuss this weird ass escapade with dude, fast food chicken sandwiches, almost being a sugamama and a random ass date I went on at smash burger. At what point am I going to get my shit together? At what point will I take care of myself before others? This episode maybe all over the place, the most vulnerable and most importantly authentic. I never start with an intro and I never end with an outdo - some things should just flow. I hope you pick up the small gems I dropped, let chat about your thoughts. Hit my line!

Episode 8: "The Benefits of Growing Up Fat"

Usually when I'm in the studio I have my cousin with me or random people, I'm usually talking to myself but they chime in. Preach at the CastSoundLab is usually on the boards and he rarely says anything. Since I started this podcast thang there have been a few people mentoring me through, of course Rell from TheCurePodcast and most importantly..... Preach. It was fun to get him behind the mic, joke a little and have a real conversation. Before he hit record, we were discussing how discouraged I felt and that I wanted to quit the podcast. Preach and A-King weren't trying to hear that. They gave me some advice and told me quitting was not an option. So as the episode began the conversation was ending. I walked out of the studio feeling the same excitement from when I left after the first episode. I don't plan on quitting, I'm accepting the obstacles and thugging it the fuck out.

This episode was pretty funny, all over the place and different. I ranted about  uber and etiquette at the drive through. Preach discussed his poor attempt at stealing from the self check out in Home Depot and how he wants drive thrus to be set up. As the conversation continued I discussed how I experienced growing up fat. NOW BEFORE YOU GO HARD IN THE PAINT... these are MY experiences not something generalized. I said it plenty of times... these are MY experiences. Many people will disagree and of course I left details out and made it funny.... but all in all you might be able to relate. I'm fully aware that everyone had different upbringings.. mine was dysfunctional, funny and nurturing. I hope you enjoy this episode.

Episode 7: "I'm Shaped Like A Grapefruit"

This episode was a bit difficult for me. I was recording alone (which is pretty easy) and I just wasn’t feeling it. I powered through and got it done. Also A-King was in the studio and put his two cents in here and there. I decided to answer a few questions that y’all sent in. I also did the Big Girl Tag, i’ll out the questions below. I ranted about my apartment hunt and how annoying the process was. I’m moving Jersey, gonna miss Brooklyn. I really waned to experience my DMs being slid into by random people. I was hoping for a man with a beard, no kids and a good job (he hits my inbox daily tho 😏). It ended up being friends and some of my fellow podcasters lol. Nevertheless this was fun and I’m looking forward to a part two.

Here are the questions:

How long should you wait before your partner meets your parents?

How big is too big?

What are your favorite role models growing up and now presently?

Should you seriously date someone that hasn't completed high school?

Why guys complain about wait trainers but their dream girl has

that shape or they wcw these same fake bodies?

Does one same sex encounter make you gay?

Inner thigh or back of the knee

Do you have a boyfriend?

Farthest place you have or will travel?

Is that your real hair?

Why are you so loud?

Do you have siblings because you seem bratty?

Did you go to college?

What is the best and worst thing about doing podcasts so far

Do you speak another language?

Are you from Connecticut?

Big Girl Tag:

1. What do you classify yourself as: (example) curvy, fat, thick, plus size, heavy, ample, PHAT (pretty hot and tempting)

2. What is your body shape? (example) hourglass, spoon, rectangle, triangle, pear, apple

Apple: The apple-shaped woman carries most of her body fat in the abdominal region. She will generally have narrow hips, larger breasts, and a relatively large waist.

Pear: The pear-shaped woman carries most of her body fat around the hips, thighs, and buttocks. She will generally have a smaller upper body (smaller breasts) and a heavier lower body.

Spoon: Where the hips are slightly larger than the bust.

Triangle: The bust is larger than the hips and the waist.

Rectangle: Where the bust and hips are basically the same circumference (boxy).

3. Are you comfortable/happy at your current size? What is your positive as a plus size person?

4. Would you like to lose weight and if so how much? What is your negative as a plus size person?

5. What is a fat thing that you do and think is funny? Example: breathing heavy or sweating profusely

6. What is your plus size pet peeve?

7. Give us a plus size tip. (example) deodorant in creases, angling for the camera a certain way to appear slimmer

I got in the studio with my some of my closest college friends. In all honesty I totally forgot i had to hit the studio, we were chilling in Ashely's house and my reminder popped up. I had to rush from the Bronx to Brooklyn not forgetting to pick up the Henny. We had a good time.. well anytime in the CastSoundLab is a good time. This episode depicts how we interact with each other on a daily but it was cool hearing their input on these issues.

We discussed insecurities,  How people are portrayed by others, why people always think fat girls are mad and the overall every day interaction as young black queens. Getting mistaken for someone else happen all day --don't we all have a dopplerganger? However begin mistaken for someone else simply because you are both fat or have the same skin color, i don't agree with. I can understand a distinguishing characteristic like a birth mark shaped like Beyonce's big toe or some shit. However our thinking is always basic and whatever gets instant results. Debate me if you want just what I'm feelings.

I enjoyed recording with my peoples. We also had a remix sessions we always do where we bounce remix classic songs .. this time it was The Electric Slide. Watch the video on my instgram!

This episode is hilarious. I had the pleasure of having some of my college friends on my show. It's interesting to see us in the same element as when we were in undergrad. Our chemistry was great.. I went in nervous but came out confident. Four things about us: 1. Young black queens 2. College Grads 3. Careers 4. PUM PUM TUN UP!!! PART 2 to Stereotypes: We discussed our views on how fat girls are being portrayed. WE talked about our insecurities. We reflected on ourselves and how WE are portrayed by others. Do all big girls look alike? Are we always mad? How do you describe a person to an individual that may not know them? Talked the basic struggles of clothing and fashion. We touched on a few topics that that shed light on whats really happening.

Episode 3: "Butter Dem Rolls"

I'M MOTHERFUCKING BACK!!!! I been gone for a minute, took a small hiatus. Life got the best of me but i got back up and now I'm BACK!

This episode is filled with information that you don't want to miss. I think its a great comeback-- of course in my opinion. I discuss stereotypes us fat women face alongside my cousin (K.CLimer). I had a close friend of mine @Antoinem_ in the studio with us. He wasn't on the mic but you heard his input here and there. You also heard K.Climer and I ROASTING that ass every time he interjected. It was fun to have this discussion and also relieving to get back in the studio. Although there is a long ass list of stereotypes that we face, this episode is just part one of this everlasting series. We decided to speak on 3 particular ones for now. I'm hoping that you all will utilize the contact form on the website and of course SLIDE in my DMs with some stereotypes that you might want me to speak on. In all reality, I'm just speaking from real life exeriences cause shit is real out here.

I appreciate all the love and support. I have so many things in store and I hope y'all ready to ride with me !

ThePodcastGirl: "A Trip to D.C"

So I went on a little road trip to D.C. with my cousin K.Climer. Now listen my favorite city is ChiTown but D.C is a close second. I've made bad decisions in both cities but never regretted them. It was a spur of the moment trip that we decided at a family dinner.... so you know shit wasn't planned out. We went with the flow and given the turn of events the flow was just right. We laughed more than anything and we now know never to pull over in a weird ass New Jersey rest stop. We jotted down everything that happened because most of it was unbelievable. SHOUTOUT to D.C. being TURNT on a Tuesday !

So I took this little quick trip to D.C with my cousin (feat. K.Climer) about a week ago! It was a very interesting time. We had a good time, crashed a party, tried that bumass mambo sauce, drank hella henny and ate Ethiopian food. Get a quick laugh as I tell the story about the trip!

Episode 2: "Who Do I Look Up To"

Now this episode was hilarious--in my opinion. My cousin (@K.Climer) and I discussed role models in our community. We see a bunch of women on the big screen, in concert and all over social media that could be possible role models for us fat girls. WE comprised a list of women, gave our opinions, ate some gummy bears and let the good times roll. We each had our reasons to why each person made it on the list. Now we know there are a few we may have missed but these women were the only people who can directly to our minds. Some of the women we mention have been with us since our childhood while others just hit the scene. It was an interesting conversation and also funny as hell when K.Climer went off about Adele adding sleeves to her Givenchy dress and Kelly price only showing the neck up in most of her early 90;s music videos. Click the link below to listen to episode 2.

Here is the list:

Jhud

Kelly price

Gabourey Sidibe

Tastee, Cindy - orange is the new black

Jazmine Sullivan

Adele

Missy Elliott

Jordyn sparks

Trunchbull

Big Shirley

Queen Latifah

Monique

Lunette Cox

Jill Scott

Kim Coles - living single

Aretha Franklin

ThePodcastGirl take a dive into the media. Who are the plus size role models for the fat girls? Who do we look up to? Why is there such a small population? ThePodcastGirl comprise a small list of the most influential celebs she thought were the best in the industry. Its hilarious and most importantly it's real. Remember stay black, stay funny, stay fat I'll HOLLA

Episode 1: "Too Much Fabric"

Comment

Episode 1: "Too Much Fabric"

The first episode of a funny, real and inspiring podcast. People always told me I was funny and should do stand up. I hesitated because this shit comes naturally, I just have a funny personality. In the most serious of moments, mostly anything that I say can cause someone to laugh. A good friend of mine started his podcast some time ago (he's half of thecurepodcast, check'em out) and told me I should do one. After going back and forth, featuring on my other friend's podcast (thegroupchat) and finally realizing I might want to do this -- THEPODCASTGIRL was born.

The basis of my podcast is to bring awareness to the issues we as fat girls face. Now most of the issues, situations and experiences that I discuss are universal. However there has never been a set platform ( I could be mistaken) that fat girls have. In a very cliche way, I want to be the voice for us. Many people live their lives bogged down and censored, NOT I. I want to show my people, our people that you can live free, say what you want and eat some snacks while doing it and not be judged- FUCK THAT. BOTTOMLINE- I'm gonna always be me soooooo YOU should ALWAYS be YOU!

Episode one took a dive into the agonizing issue fat girls face, CLOTHING. Everyone wants to have "plus sizes" to appeal to their "bigger" customers. But are the clothes really plus size? Why is it so expensive? Why is is so hard to keep up with the trends without spending your rent money on a pair of pants? I had a very funny and in-depth conversation with Kashmademedoit from 2501 Clothing Co. He did shed some light on a few things but I still feel some type of way that my XL shirt fits like a SMALL. All my shirt shouldn't turn in to a crop top when I take my bra off! CLICK the link below to listen to episode 1.

Episode 1: "Too Much Fabric" takes a look into plus size fashion. Featuring @kashmademedoit, ThePodcastGirl talks the truth about sizing, fitting and the overall experience fat girls face while shopping for clothing. All while keeping it real-- there's a comical spin to a fat girl's everyday struggle.
